well it is about your bf so that gives this picture a meaning for you I am sure but what bothers me is that kind of balloon or something which is cut off both horizontally and vertically and especially that framed thing on the wall that didn't really have to be there. apart that the conent is expressive both when it comes to the faces and also the look of the picture with makes me think it was taken back in 1938 or something.
